Drop the Code. See the Selfie.
Hi, I'm Jean. By day, I'm a builder at heart, spending my time designing and developing small apps and micro-SaaS businesses. I love the entire process of tinkering with code, solving niche problems, and launching digital tools that make people's lives just a little bit easier. It's rewarding work that keeps me focused on creating functional, user-friendly experiences for people online.
My life outside of software, however, is all about real-world human connection and exploration. I travel extensively and have called many different states home over the years, which has given me a deep appreciation for the unique rhythm of different neighborhoods. I spend my evenings documenting what I see, uncovering local events, and sharing interesting stories in my newsletter. It's a space dedicated entirely to celebrating the quirks, hidden gems, and triumphs of local communities across the country.
To help bring these stories to life, I'm currently building a small, tightly-knit team of contributors who are just as passionate as I am. We come from wildly different backgroundsโour group includes a freelance graphic designer, a local barista, a former deep-sea welder, and even a retired rodeo clown. We're scattered across the map, dialing in from big hubs like Chicago and Denver to quiet corners like Yellow Springs, Ohio, and Marfa, Texas. No matter what we do for a living or what our zip code is, we all share one unifying goal: a genuine love for local communities and a drive to pass on positive energy to our neighbors.
